3844 Graduates During Chuka University’s 12th Graduation Ceremony


Some 3844 students graduated from Chuka University during its 12th graduation ceremony held on Friday at the University’s grounds in Ndagani.

According to Meru County senator and the Deputy Speaker Senate Murungi Kathuri who was the chief guest during the event, the number of Ph.D. graduates doubled to 21 while those with masters’ degrees increased from 75 to 118 as compared to 2022.

Kathuri said that a successful university should teach students using research experience and train them using experimental learning saying that education should transform the human mind to open up room for success.

The Senator commended the universities for using approaches that support the government’s bottom-up economic transformation agenda.

He urged the institution’s staff members and professors to offer services to students in a friendly and interactive manner that will transform technologies and research to uplift the economic status of the community.

‘You should support students and show commitment and determination
to produce top-notch leaders after graduation,’ he said.

Kathuri applauded the university for demonstrating it can achieve milestones in research, international linkages, industry connection, and extension service during the International research conference held between the 5th and 6th October 2023.

He advised students to stay determined and pursue their dreams adding that a degree provides opportunities to excel in life after graduation.

Sen. Kathuri further urged them to be on the lookout for vacancies through the Public Service Commission to serve the national or county government.
