A government delegation led by the Minister of State, government spokesperson, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, went Monday afternoon to Barsalgho to present the condolences and compassion of the Nation to the populations, victims of a terrorist attack on Saturday August 24, 2024.
After Kaya on Sunday August 25, 2024, a government team went to Barsalgho on Monday evening to comfort the populations, following the violent terrorist attack which cost the lives of several citizens and caused numerous injuries.
These are the Minister of State, government spokesperson, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, the Minister of Humanitarian Action, Nandy Somé/Diallo and the Head of State- Major General of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Célestin Simporé.
‘We came here to Barsalgho to express the solidarity of the highest authorities of the country, the government and the entire Nation after this cowardly and barbaric attack that you suffered,’ declared the head of the governm
ent delegation, Rimbtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, to the notables and residents gathered around the chief of Barsalgho.
Also, continued the minister, ‘the government joins you in praying for the rest of the souls of the missing and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured’.
He also indicated that measures are being taken by the government not only to ensure free treatment of patients but also to provide an appropriate humanitarian and security response to the situation.
Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo also invited his interlocutors to sacred union around the fighters to leave no chance to the enemy.
For the head of Barsalgho, this approach by the government brings a lot of comfort to his people.
‘What you have just done wipes away our tears,’ said the traditional leader before warmly thanking the delegation.
On behalf of the people, he asked the delegation for vigorous actions to restore peace to Barsalogho and throughout the area.
The elements of the military detachment and the staff of the medical center wi
th surgical branch of the commune also received messages of encouragement and recognition from the government and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces.
