Seventy thousand Arabica coffee seedlings are available at the Andulo Agricultural Technical Institute (ITAA), in the province of Bié, for free distribution to producers, ANGOP has learned.According to the head of the institution, Edgar Chicapa, the plants are under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and will be distributed to producers in the nine municipalities of the province.In 2023, the Andulo Agricultural Technical Institute (ITAA) delivered nearly 60,000 coffee seeds to producers in Cuito, Nhãrea, Cuemba, Camacupa, Catabola, Chitembo and Chinguar.In operation since 2008, ITAA enrolled 1,600 students in the current academic year 2024/2025, 120 of whom are in-house students in animal and plant production and agricultural mechanization assistant courses.In the province of Bié, the agricultural sector aims to achieve an annual production of Arabica coffee of ten thousand tons, compared to the three thousand produced by 2022.To this end, the 35 largest coffee producers in this central/southern region of the country and singular have been benefited with seedlings, to be planted on 100 hectares.Source: Angola Press News Agency
