ANGOP promotes solidarity soup for vulnerable children in Benguela

More than forty children in a situation of social vulnerability, in the city of Benguela, were given, this Wednesday, 30th, a solidarity soup, as part of the 49th anniversary of ANGOP’s existence, which is celebrated today.

In addition to these children, the gesture of solidarity by the Benguela Provincial Delegation of ANGOP also benefited young people, adults, street vendors, employees in the municipality’s basic sanitation area and peaceful citizens who were passing by or resting in Largo 1° de Maio in Benguela, the location of the event.

According to the provincial delegate of ANGOP in Benguela, Carlos Benedito, the philanthropic action aims not only to celebrate another anniversary of the company, but also to demonstrate solidarity with those citizens who are going through countless social difficulties.

The journalist also believes that the gesture, although it does not completely resolve the needs of these people, certainly helped to minimize and awaken society to embrace solidarity in this difficul
t phase that the country is going through.

“Every day, in the city of Benguela and its surroundings, we come across dozens of needy citizens, especially children, wandering the streets begging for alms,” he highlighted.

Visibly concerned, he believes that the cluster of vulnerable children at the entrance to shops, bakeries and near traffic lights, in the city of Benguela, challenges society to act, and not to look on with indifference.

It is in this context that the person in charge justified the simple gesture that motivated the ANGOP workers, who, with love and affection, served hot soups to children and other disadvantaged people, thus bringing comfort and smiles.

Modernization

Regarding ANGOP’s anniversary, Carlos Benedito highlighted that the commitment to technical and technological modernization will continue, combined with the training process for its professionals.

The challenge, he said, is to guarantee daily, through the ANGOP portal, the provision of a quality public information service, an
chored in rigor, objectivity and impartiality.

Likewise, Carlos Benedito also highlighted as a priority the improvement of the technical working conditions of professionals, as well as the social framework, aiming at the valorization and dignity of staff.

New content on the portal

“Living with Health”, “Free Conversations” and “Economy and Analysis” are some of the new contents that will be incorporated, in the coming days, into ANGOP’s news portal.

Announcing the fact today in Luanda, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANGOP, Josué Salusuva Isaías, said that the introduction of new services and informative content, advertising and public utility, aims to make the portal more versatile, interactive and modern.
