SIAYA: Siaya magistrate, Benjamin Limo has ruled that a suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Wells Fargo's human resource boss Willis Ayieko will be in police custody for the next 30 days. Duncan Onyango alias Otuch, who was arraigned before the court today, will be locked in at the Kisumu railways police station, where suspects arrested earlier are being held, pending police investigations into the murder.According to Kenya News Agency, the police requested for a 30-day detention of the 48-year-old suspect, which magistrate Limo granted, and ordered him to appear for the case on December 13, 2024. Onyango was arrested in Bondo last Friday and is believed to have crucial information regarding the murder. Ayieko was held and tortured in his house in Luanda Doho village, Kakamega County.Onyango is the fourth suspect to be involved in the murder investigation. Two other suspects, a man and a woman, have since died following a fire exchange with the police, who also managed to recover Ayieko's pi stol.The late Ayieko was buried over the weekend at Ong'iende village in Central Alego location, Siaya County. Leaders present at the burial demanded that the police extend their search to include those who allegedly planned the murder. The leaders present included governor James Orengo and legislators Samwel Atandi, David Ochieng, and Otiende Amollo.
