It is little surprise that Emmanuel Macron has been re-elected president of the French Republic. He secured 58.54% of votes, compared to Marine Le Pen’s 41.46%. Whilst he may be feeling victorious, both the voter turnout and the political ramifications of his presidential campaign should force him to seriously re-think this. “Supersonic” rise in French COVID-19 cases in coming days, government says

PARIS (Reuters) – A “supersonic” rise in French COVID-19 cases is set to continue in the coming days and there are no signs of the trend reversing, French government spokesman Gabriel Attal said on Wednesday. He also said that infections were reaching “stratospheric levels” in the Ile-de-France region around Paris and some other parts of France and said that the situation in hospitals could worsen in coming weeks. Since 2010, no team in the World Juniors has won back-to-back gold medals. This year, the United States look to buck that trend north of the border.
