Bafoussam: A twelve-year-old child confessed to have stabbed his father to death while asleep in Tougang neighborhood, in the West Regional capital, Bafoussam. In a video confession that was filmed by a security officer, Ismael, a Year One secondary school student, was motivated by the intention of buying a bicycle when he attacked his own father, Christian, in his sleep to snatch the daily income he returned with.According to Cameroon News Agency, neighbors who subsequently caught him revealed that the child had welcomed his father upon his return home before committing his crime and attempted fleeing. He told security forces that his intention was to return to his mother after collecting money from his father. The mother of the child confessed that the child had recently become unbearable by manifesting dangerous behavior, which was the reason he was sent to live with his father some two months before the incident.The remains of the victim, a commercial bike rider in the town of Bafoussam, were taken to his native Bapeng village, in Bameka in the Upper Plateau Division for burial.
