'Life is not just about money and power, which only facilitates your comfort, but not necessarily happiness,' former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has said.Speaking in Meru Town, Kiraitu thanked the United Nations for designating 20th March every year, as the World International Day of Happiness.The former Meru governor urged members of the public and leadership class to learn and train themselves to be always happy, terming it as not only beneficial and healthy but also the surest way to become productive in impacting the environment one is living positively.He urged the political class to view any defeat in an electoral contest as an opportunity to explore other ventures of life, citing his case.The former governor reiterated the importance of shunning frustration and stress, as this impedes the growth and development of both individuals and the public, one is leading.Kiraitu said he took the loss of his candidature for governorship in the 2022 election, as an opportunity for discovering a new pa th in life, which he could otherwise not have done, had he won the seat.He further maintained that challenges offer an opportunity to learn and explore new pathways and ventures in life, while a stronger sense of happiness contributes to healthier mental, social, emotional, and physical well-being.Kiraitu further revealed that he is fully equipped to spearhead happiness after he completed an online degree course in happiness studies at Happiness Studies Academy, based in New York.Source: Kenya News Agency
