Beyond Hoops Partners With Dennis Oliech For Scholarships

Beyond Hoops, a non-governmental sports organization has partnered with legendary retired Harambee Stars forward Mr. Dennis ‘The Menace’ Oliech and Dagoretti Sports fraternity to launch ‘The Dare To Dream Festival’ 2023 set for Saturday, 21st October, 2023 at the Riruta Stadium in Dagoretti South Constituency. The one-day event will be used to select the Dagoretti area All Star Teams for both boys and girls who will take part in the Africa Connect International Trials Showcase set for December this year at the Lenana School. The selected footballers will secure scholarships to study and play football in the USA. The festival will involve five sports disciplines namely, football, basketball, freestyle football, Esports and spoken word. According to Beyond Hoops CEO Mr. James Kamau, the ‘Dare To Dream Festival’ 2023 is set to identify, nurture, inspire and empower youths from all walks of life. ‘We want to change the lives of these young boys and girls from Dagoretti area and plan to do it all across the country,’ said Kamau. Oliech, a former Harambee Stars Captain said that he is happy to partner with Beyond Hoops Africa to help youths from Dagoretti achieve their dreams. ‘I made it from Dagoretti and I will guide them and make sure they also get to play football in Europe and USA,’ said Oliech. The Dare To Dream Festival 2023 also aims at teaching the youths to avoid crime, drug and substance abuse and empower them through sports and creative arts. The event will culminate with awarding Dennis Oliech with The Dare To Dream Lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary career at club and national level and also planting of trees to impact climate change. Beyond Hoops Organization is aiming at training youths holistically to be responsible members of the community, develop fundamentally sound players, prepare them physically, mentally and emotionally to play to their fullest potentials in Africa and abroad.
