A truck’s brake failure led to a fatal collision with a taxi, resulting in the death of the taxi driver and passenger near the GCE Board office in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon on the morning of Wednesday August 21, 2024.According to eyewitnesses, the truck, which was descending towards Molyko, experienced brake failure. Alarmed by the malfunction, one of the truck’s occupants reportedly began shouting and pleading with passersby and other vehicles to move aside as the truck lost control. Despite these warnings, the truck crashed into a taxi, causing severe damage.Both the driver and the owner of the taxi were immediately rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.The driver later succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The taxi in question was extensively crushed in the collision.Reports say the accident also affected other vehicles on the road, with some suffering minor and major scratches from the collision. Also, the collision caused significant damage to the surrounding area, including the wall surrounding the GCE Board office.Source: Cameroon News Agency
