Burkina: An association entertains fallen FDS children through recreational activities

Ouagadougou: The Association of Women of Heroes of the Nation (AFEMH-N) entertained, on Saturday, the children of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who fell on the battlefield, through recreational activities for their development in society.

Various cultural activities were organized on Sunday, August 11, 2024 for the benefit of the wards of the Nation, in the premises of the Palais de la Jeunesse et de la Culture Jean-Pierre Guingané in Ouagadougou, by the Association of Women of Heroes of the Nation (AFEMH-N), with a view to enabling them to better flourish in society.

These include, among other things, a fashion show, artistic performances, poetry recitals, playbacks, and a film screening for the future Men of Tomorrow.

‘These are our children. Who knows their needs better than us? We don’t have enough time to do our work and take care of our children,’ said the president of AFEMH-N, Balguissa Sigué.

Ms. Sigué explains that she organized this recreational day during the holidays for the benefit of
fallen FDS children, in order to allow them to smile again thanks to cultural services.

‘These children continue to work well at school, despite the absence of their parents,’ said the president of the association.

Ms. Sigué also explained that it is a way for her structure to express its satisfaction and to encourage these children to approach the 2024-2025 school year with serenity.

She also invited the population and technical and financial partners to always think about the development of these orphaned children in Burkina Faso.

Balguissa Sigué also called for other activities to be carried out, such as outings and summer camps, to bring moral comfort to these children.

The spokesperson for the fallen FDS children, Wendlasida Juba Slacy Louré, a CM1 student, thanked the association for this initiative in their favor.

‘We are very happy to have you among us for this recreational day,’ declared young Louré, aged 9.

The ceremony was sponsored by Cheikh Omar Zongo, a person working in the informal sect
or in Burkina Faso.

The AFEMH-N was created to strengthen solidarity between deceased FDS widows. She wants to bring some comfort to their children. The association is made up of 200 women.
