The minister in charge of urban planning, Mikailou Sidibé, sent his congratulations to the workers of his department, whose self-sacrifice made it possible to achieve an execution rate of 65.55% target contracts assigned to his ministry in the first half of 2024.'We had a total of 33 activities for this year 2024. We have therefore just taken stock in front of the Prime Minister. And, in terms of implementation of activities as of June 30, 2024, we are at an execution rate of 65.55%,' indicated the minister in charge of urban planning, Mikailou Sidibé.The minister spoke Thursday in Ouagadougou during the half-yearly evaluation session of the target contracts of the various ministers.For Mr. Sidibé, this assessment is to the credit of the workers of the ministry, to whom he addressed 'his warm congratulations'.He also urged them to maintain the momentum 'so that at the end of the day, we can have an equally satisfactory execution rate.'According to him, the objectives assigned to his ministerial depa rtment concern, among other things, planning for better urban governance, the development and sanitation of rainwater, the production of housing and the control of development standards.The minister specified that the activities carried out relate to 'emblematic files', in particular the clearance of urban liabilities with the adoption of the law relating to real estate development in Burkina Faso.'We were able to process this file and produce a report for the attention of the Council of Ministers, which adopted a first phase of regularization of this liability,' he confided.He added that work continues with the other cases. The minister also reassured that land liabilities, in general, are taken into account in the activities of the ministry.In his opinion, his department has also launched a number of programs for the production of housing.According to him, work has been launched in the Central Plateau region to create housing intended to accommodate internally displaced people and vulnerable peopl e, as well as another project concerning the diaspora.Source : Burkina Information Agency
