Cocoa farmers in Cameroon may soon decide whether to accept a new offer from an international company. The company has expressed interest in purchasing cocoa at FCFA 5200 per kilogram, which could significantly boost the local economy, the Minister of Trade and Commerce, Luc Magloire said.However, in some places, this price is lower than what farmers have been receiving in recent months, with cocoa selling for over FCFA 6000 per kilogram. Many farmers are concerned that accepting the lower price could negatively impact their livelihoods.
