Church Strengthens Outreach Programmes for Vulnerable Groups

Nyahururu: The Nyahururu Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) Diocesan Bishop has emphasized the need for the church to enhance outreach initiatives for the less privileged members of society. Bishop Dr. Peter Kinyua Mwangi announced plans to bolster efforts aimed at poverty eradication and accelerating the Mercy Ministry to support widows, youth, and the elderly.

According to Kenya News Agency, Bishop Mwangi’s Diocese, which spans Nyandarua, Laikipia, and Samburu Counties, hosted a congregation from these regions at CFF Central Church in Nyahururu. He urged church leaders to not only focus on evangelism but also to extend their outreach to vulnerable groups within the community.

The Bishop outlined that the Diocese would implement programmes aimed at assisting the less fortunate and eliminating poverty. He expressed that these initiatives are designed to uplift individuals who feel marginalized and help them realize their potential in society. Bishop Mwangi announced plans to designate a special day for the Mercy Ministry, during which foodstuffs and clothing, among other essential items, will be collected to aid those in need.

Bishop Kinyua encouraged pastors and church leaders to remain steadfast in their mission, despite the challenges they face, and to trust in their faith for guidance. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and aligning with the Diocese’s vision, noting that achieving any vision requires collective effort and solidarity.

Reflecting on the Diocese’s growth, he highlighted its expansion from a region with only 12 churches to its current status of 112 churches. He attributed this success to the cooperation and teamwork within the church community.
