Dengu pleased with ongoing capital projects in Moses ||Garoëb

Moses ||Garoëb Constituency Councillor Stefanus Ndengu has expressed gratitude that the ongoing capital projects in his constituency will bring much-needed socio-economic development.

This, he said includes the upgrading of the Peter Nanyemba road into a dual carriageway to improve traffic flow and ease congestion along the busy motorway. The N.dollars 381 million road project is part of the Ongos Valley Development.

Ndengu on Tuesday, told Nampa that the constituency currently has three projects, of which two are road construction.

“The Peter Nanyemba road, which connects the Ongos Valley township, will take two years to complete and is a big project that has provided employment opportunities to many Namibians. We also have a road which was pending for a long time and is now under construction. This road stretches from the Hakahana clinic to the constituency office in Havana and has also provided employment to many people from the constituency,” he boasted.

Ndengu further highlighted that works for the construction of the Abraham Iyambo secondary school located between Max Mutongolume and Cuba informal settlements have also begun.

Its construction will help alleviate the lack of classrooms in the constituency.

The school, which is expected to have 24 classes, will be constructed in two phases, starting with the primary school to be followed by the secondary school phase.

The councillor is also pleased that the new Windhoek district hospital will be constructed in his constituency after Cabinet approved the construction of a new 300-bed public hospital to ease the strain on the existing Windhoek Central Hospital and Katutura State Hospital.

“The construction of the hospital, which might start next year, will bring much-needed public services closer to the people. And as you can see, the two roads that are being upgraded will also serve the hospital because they will address traffic congestion,” said Ndengu.
