Father Kills His 12-Year-Old Son In Narok

Police in Narok North Sub County are investigating an incident in which a 62-year-old man murdered his 12-year-old son at Kipendeni village in Olposimoru ward.

Narok County Police Commander John Kizito said the incident was reported by the local assistant chief Douglas Sadera, who had visited the homestead and confirmed the death.

Upon receiving the report, Kizito said, the police officers rushed to the scene and established that Emanuel Kibet, a juvenile aged 12 years old had been murdered by his father Sameul Landichi, 62 years old within their homestead.

‘Police established that the boy was cut using a sharp panga on his head by his biological father and died on the spot,’ he said, adding that the motive for the murder has not been established.

Following the incident, the old man was arrested and is being held at Olokurto police station as the body of the deceased was taken to Olenguruoni sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Elsewhere, police at Ngoisuash area in Narok South Sub County have recovered a body of an unknown man hanging from a tree in a nearby bush.

The body was discovered by children who had gone to graze their livestock in the area. They reported the matter to the village elder.

The police commander reported that the body had no physical injuries or signs of strangulation, hence suspected that the man had committed suicide. No identification documents or suicide note were recovered from the deceased either.

The body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation as the police trace the man’s identity.
