Bungoma County emerged the best in implementation of the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP) project.Governor Kenneth Lusaka, was feted by the World Bank, as the best Governor in the Country in implementing the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Project (NARIGP).The Award ceremony presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mithika Linturi in Mombasa, saw Bungoma scoop three other awards that include Community driven development component one, where Bungoma was awarded Gold. In strengthening farmer producer organizations at the grassroots component, Bungoma was awarded Bronze. Finally, in overall project implementation with the most impact in the community, Bungoma received a gold.Governor Lusaka dedicated the awards to the residents of Bungoma and committed to keep his transformational agenda alive, across all the sectors in Bungoma.NARIGP is a Government of Kenya project, that is implemented through the Ministry of Agricultur e, Livestock Fisheries and Irrigation, State Department for Crop Development, with funding support from the World Bank.Source: Kenya News Agency
