President João Lourenço congratulated on Wednesday the Ugandan people and government on the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of Uganda's National Independence.In a message sent to President Yoweri Musseveni, to which ANGOP had access, the Angolan Head of State highlights the determination with which his Ugandan counterpart has been involved 'in the process of building and consolidating the bases of progress'.He also highlighted Yoweri Musseveni's commitment to development, on which citizens' hopes for a better future rests.Angola and Uganda maintain long-standing bilateral and multilateral cooperation ties, based on a Memorandum of Understanding on regular Political and Diplomatic Consultations.The two countries have expressed intentions to boost cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, investments in the areas of commerce, banking, air transport, as well as in agro-industry.Both countries are part of the International Conference of the Great Lakes RegionSource: Angola Press News Agency
