Migori: Interior Principal Secretary (PS), Omollo, has called for peace in the Kuria region, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring tranquility along the borders of Kisii and Narok counties to foster economic development.
According to Kenya News Agency, Omollo highlighted the collaborative efforts involving local leaders, security agencies, and communities to achieve enduring peace, essential for the economic growth of the region. He stressed that security issues are not solely a government concern and encouraged community involvement in policing efforts to support local security teams in maintaining law and order.
Omollo underscored the importance of peace for economic growth, urging Kenyans to cooperate with local authorities to secure a peaceful nation. His remarks came during a church service at the Migori SDA Central Church, where he also inspected the progress of significant development projects, including the 1.5 billion Kegonga Cluster Water and Sanitation Project at the Nyamanche water intake site in Kuria East Sub-county and the Taranganya-Loliondo road.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Migori Senator Eddy Oketch, Kuria East MP Kitayama Maisori, and Suna West MP Peter Masara, who all advocated for inclusivity and unity among Migori residents.
