The Jubilee Party has accused the Government of trying to subvert the will of the people by pushing constitutional amendments through the backdoor.Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said the current regime was keen on pushing amendments that require a referendum through parliament that was against the law.' We must say no to mutilation of the constitution, by a determined executive,' he said.Speaking in Embu on Saturday during the election of party grassroot leaders, Kioni said the opposition will stand firm in protest of such 'dictatorial' tendencies.Other leaders who spoke during the event said the region despite overwhelmingly voting for the KK government got a raw deal as no meaningful projects had been initiated so far.During the elections, Nominated MCA Agnes Wanjiru and John Kathangu were elected as branch Chair and Secretary General respectively.
