Kajiado Bans Land Sale Advertisements

Kajiado County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, Urban Development, and Municipalities Hamilton Parseina has banned land signage advertisements in Kajiado County, with immediate effect. In a public notice signed by Parseina, the county has directed that all billboards and or signage advertising land be brought down henceforth, as they were encouraging land fraud in the county. According to the directive, there has been a surge in the number of billboards and other signage advertising land sales in the county, a development which the County does not condone. The CECM directed that all the billboards and signage advertising land be brought down by August 1, 2023. This comes a week after the county launched a ten-year spatial plan, which provides a structured framework for coordinating and integrating sectoral plans and activities and supports the systematic implementation of county development programmes. The spatial plan also seeks to promote individual initiatives and investments while safeguarding the public interest, in addition to acting as an instrument for initiating, guiding, monitoring, and appraising County Development activities.
