Nairobi: Khwisero Member of Parliament (MP), Christopher Aseka, yesterday distributed fertiliser to area farmers in the area so as to boost food security and enhance economic empowerment. During the occasion to launch distribution of the fertiliser, the legislator said that he was keen on supporting the farmers to better their livelihoods through modern farming in an initiative called the 'Aseka Miradi Fukuzaa Njaa Programme'.According to Kenya News Agency, the MP said the programme is dedicated to equipping farmers with essential farming implements to boost agricultural productivity and improve household incomes. 'As the planting season approaches, I have launched the distribution of fertilisers to women farmers across Khwisero Sub County to uplift lives and drive development across the area,' he asserted.He revealed that the first phase of the distribution programme covered Khushiku, Mushiangubu, Eshirali, Mulwanda, Eshibinga, Emalindi, Wambulishe, and Emutsesa sub-locations. Aseka said the next phase w ill reach all the remaining sub-locations in the entire constituency and reiterated that his focus remains on the delivery of sustainable projects.The MP underscored that he will continue to strengthen key sectors, including education, electricity, health, and agricultural projects under the 'Aseka Miradi Fukuzaa Njaa' initiative.
