Machakos Governor Praises Erdemann Properties for Boosting Affordable Housing


Machakos, Kenya – Governor Wavinya Ndeti of Machakos has recognized Erdemann Properties Limited for its significant role in constructing high-quality, affordable housing units. This acknowledgement comes as the demand for reasonably priced housing continues to rise in Kenya.



Erdemann Properties, established in 2003 and based in Nairobi, focuses on property development. It is known for integrating the latest building technologies to offer affordable housing solutions. During a groundbreaking ceremony for the Great Wall Gardens Phase 6 project in Athiriver Sub County, Governor Ndeti praised Erdemann Properties for making Machakos a prime location for housing and infrastructure development.



According to Kenya News Agency, the county government is in talks with housing sector investors to include essential amenities like market sheds and public toilets in their projects. This initiative is aimed at bringing order to urban centers in Machakos. She also lauded Erdemann and other investors for creating job opportunities for local youth, contributing to societal transformation.



However, Governor Ndeti emphasized the importance of obtaining approval from the department of lands, housing, and urban development for any developments within the county. She urged investors to support the local economy by using construction materials like sand, stone, and gravel sourced from Machakos.



Zeyun Yang, Managing Director of Erdemann Properties, mentioned that the completion of the new project will bring the total number of units built by the company to 10,000 since its inception. Yang reiterated the company’s commitment to providing affordable housing options for middle and low-income Kenyan families, whether for ownership or rental.



Yang expressed gratitude towards the Machakos County government for creating a business-friendly environment that promotes growth. He also called on national and county governments to enhance essential services such as roads, water supply, sewage systems, and electricity provision.
