Man allegedly stabbed to death at Okahandja during a quarrel

OTJIWARONGO: A 23-year-old man at Okahandja died instantly on Saturday morning after he was allegedly stabbed in a quarrel.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, in an interview with Nampa on Saturday, said the deceased was identified by his close relatives as Stanley Tjitavi Kamutua.

Kamutua was a resident of Vergenoeg location in Nau-Aib township in Okahandja, where he was allegedly stabbed once in the chest with a sharp object in the early hours of Saturday between 04h00 and 07h00, said Mbeha.

‘Kamutua died instantly and it is still not exactly known to us on what led to the quarrel between the two,’ said Mbeha.

A 26-year-old male suspect was arrested on the same Saturday, and he is expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning.
