At least one person was killed and multiple homes were burned in a brutal attack by suspected Mbororo militants in Sop village in Ndu subdivision, residents said Tuesday.The assailants believed to be members of the nomadic Mbororo community, launched the attack early in the morning, surprising residents as they slept. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and the sound of flames engulfing homes.The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was killed inside their home, 'He was sick and could not run as others did', explained a witness. The exact number of homes destroyed in the fire is still being assessed, but preliminary reports indicate significant damage to the village.Following the attack, the militants reportedly issued threats to return, instilling fear among the surviving residents. Many have fled their homes to seek refuge in neighboring villages.The recurring clashes between farmers and nomadic herders have become a persistent problem in the North West region, leading to loss of life an d displacement.Source: Cameroon News Agency
