Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Thomas Sankara Memorial: the PTAB 2024 adopted at 3.119 billion FCFA


The Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Bètamou Fidèle Aymar TAMINI chaired the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Thomas Sankara Memorial this Thursday, August 8, 2024 in Ouagadougou.

According to the president of the Steering Committee Bètamou Fidèle Aymar Tamini, the process of constructing the infrastructure of the Isidore Noël Thomas Sankara Memorial continues and it is with the aim of adopting and validating the strategic document that is the Work Plan Annual Budgeted 2024 (PTAB), which is held in this framework of exchanges.

This meeting made it possible to collect the opinions of the actors of the Steering Committee with a view to adopting and validating the PTBA which is a useful tool for the implementation of project activities. It also made it possible to adapt the budget allocated to the execution of the project in relation to the expressed need for resources.

To do this, the coordinator of the Thomas Sankara Memorial infrastructure construction
project, Etienne LOMPO, made a brief presentation of the document sent to the members of the Steering Committee for amendment.

According to him, the implementation of PTAB 2024 activities will be focused on specific studies, the organization of activities to promote the ideals of the ‘father of the August 83 Revolution’ and the strengthening of technical capacities. , material and operational of the Project Management Unit.

According to him, the overall cost of carrying out this revised PTAB is 03 billion 119 million 272 thousand CFA francs. There is a elimination of 21 activities and a reduction of 5 billion 428 million 404 thousand CFA francs compared to the initial PTBA budget which was 8 billion 627 million 776 thousand CFA francs, he indicated.

The actors of several institutions, namely the ministry in charge of Culture, the Prime Minister, the ministry in charge of the Environment, the ministry in charge of Security, the ministry of defense and that in charge of Housing, make up this Steering Committ
ee, suggested Fidèle Aymar Tamini.

From his explanations, several skills were mobilized to support this process which now moves from the planning phase to that of the effective implementation of activities.
