Ministry Set To Host Digital Transformation Public Sector Forum


The Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy, in partnership with Greydale Africa, is set to host the Digital Transformation Public Sector (DTPS) Forum and Awards on February 22nd and 23rd this year, at the Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa.

The forum, which will be graced by Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, has been sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Computer Revolution Africa, and Intel, among other key development partners.

Speaking during a press briefing held at the Ministry Headquarters at Telposta Towers, Nairobi, the ICT and the Digital Economy, Principal Secretary (PS), Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, noted that the forum, which is the first of its kind, will showcase successful digital achievements and solutions in government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s).

‘It will provide a convening platform for all tech experts in the public and private sectors, equipping public officers with skills and knowledge, promoting effective s
ervice delivery, and fast-tracking digital transformation.

The event will recognise those who have made significant achievements in the digital transformation agenda,’ added Eng.Tanui.

He further underscored that the awards celebrate excellence in Public Sector Digital transformation and aim to recognise public sector organisations that are continuously leveraging on technology, to improve effectiveness, transparency, and service delivery.

‘Additionally, the forum will create a transparent environment for leaders to openly discuss challenges faced during the digitalization process, fostering a collaborative approach towards finding effective solutions,

‘At this forum, we want to identify the different gaps in institutional capacity and explore various strategies to strengthen the digital capabilities of public institutions, ensuring they are well equipped for a fully digitalized government,’ said Tanui.

WPS) West, East, and Central Africa; Amazon Web Services, Mr. Robin Njiru; and Revolution Africa CEO, Simon Kinuthia.
