Na We We Buea-Urban Sports competition stimulates voter registration, living together


The ‘Na We We’ Buea-Urban Sports Competition, organized by the Honourable Malomba Esembe, a member of Parliament, enrolled over 600 new voters and consolidated living together in the cosmopolis.

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, the competition reached its climax with an exhilarating final match. Buea City Drivers staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Long Street FC 3-2, overcoming an early 1-0 deficit.

The tournament, aimed at boosting voter registration, promoting social cohesion, and showcasing local talent was described as a resounding success. In addition to 1 million francs CFA awarded to the winners, and 500,000 franc CFA for the runners-up, other prizes during the event brought the total cash prize to over 2 million francs CFA.

Honorable Malomba Esembe was applauded for his role in fostering the youth agenda, living together, and coexistence by spectators from across the constituency.

Hard-hit conflict areas like Muea and Tole also participated in the debut initiative. Young persons confessed the comp
etition had significantly fostered peace, tolerance, living together, and camaraderie. They added that the MP had displayed commitment towards the youths.
