NADCO report a sure bet to birth official leader of opposition, Junet

National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has said that the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report if fully implemented will address and establish the Office of the Leader of Official Opposition.

Speaking at his Suna East Constituency ahead of the anticipated visit of President William Ruto in Migori County, Junet said that the Office of the Leader of Official Opposition does not currently exist and those purporting to be holding the office are being dishonest to themselves.

Junet’s comments come after the Wiper party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was declared by some of the Azimio party affiliates to be the official opposition leader following Tuesday’s launch of Raila Odinga’s campaign for the African Union Commission Chairperson Seat.

The Minority leader also stressed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was not part of the government but a minority party in the National Assembly.

He further insisted that Raila Odinga remain the party leader of ODM until he assumes the role of African Union (A
U) chairperson.

‘We will cross the bridge of who will become the party leader of ODM only after our party leader Raila Odinga has secured the position of AU chairperson,’ Junet reiterated.

Junet has also welcomed President William Ruto’s visit to the county where he is expected to launch various projects this afternoon; the launch of the Kegonga Water Project in Kuria East Sub County, the President will also inspect the Lower Kuja Irrigation Project and launch the Ngege-Mapera Road.
