Nandi East security officers led by the Sub County Police Commander Francis Omulo have intensified the war against illicit brew, arresting four women and one man on Saturday.According to a statement issued by Nandi Hills police station regarding the operation on illicit brew, the five were arrested in possession of chang'aa, kangara and their manufacturing apparatus.'Today officers drawn from Nandi East Sub County under the command of the Sub County Police Commander jointly with area chiefs conducted an operation on illicit brew at Kisoga village, Kidoga sub location in Ainapngetuny location and Seiyo village, Kapkoros sub location in Kapkoros location within Nandi Hills Ward and managed to arrest three women and one man in possession of illicit brew manufacturing apparatus,' Omulo said.In addition, the team conducted a similar operation at Kipsamo village, Kipsamo sub location in Nandi Hills location where they arrested one woman.The five who are being held at Nandi Hills police station awaiting arra ignment before Kapsabet court on Monday, February 26, 2024 are Janet Chemeli aged 39 arrested with 30 litres of kangara and 5litres of chang'aa, Teresa Sitienei aged 55 with 20 litres of kangara, Gladys Chepkemboi aged 43 with 20litres kangara and 4litres of chang'aa, Peter Bor aged 38 in possession of 20 litres of kangara, Sarah Cherobon aged 45 20 litres of kangara.Source: Kenya News Agency
