Narok Plan For 16-Days Of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Narok Plan for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence aims to end violence against women and girls in society.

Speaking during the planning meeting with the stakeholders, Narok Director of Gender Agnes Ngeno said the event will take place next week at Elangata Enterit, Narok South Sub County.

Ngeno said the aim of the 16 days of activism is to register displeasure against gender violence within the society living in Narok County.

The Assistant County Commissioner, Narok Central Division, Abdi Shakur Ali, said the county has improved from 48 per cent to 28 per cent on teenage pregnancies.

‘Though the county has improved, there are still a lot of efforts we need to address as stakeholders,’ said Ali.

He added that Narok County is still among the few counties where retrogressive practices are still rampant.

He said teenage pregnancies are still a challenge among the girls in society, and the event is important as it aims to end violence against women and girls in society.

The global 16 Days of
