By Charity NginyuCameroonian actor Kang Quintus has been honored as the Best Actor at the prestigious EKO International Film Festival in Nigeria for his role in the film 'NGANÙ.'Not only did Quintus clinch the Best Actor award, but his film 'NGANÙ' also secured the accolade for Best Feature Film.This victory follows Quintus' earlier success with his debut film, 'The Fisherman's Diary,' which continues to garner acclaim and propel his career forward.His groundbreaking win not only makes him the first Cameroonian to clinch an award at the festival but also establishes him as a trailblazer in African cinema.In a statement following his win, Quintus expressed gratitude for the recognition and affirmed his commitment to furthering the success of Cameroonian cinema.The EKO International Film Festival, founded in 2009 by Nigerian visionary Hope Obiama, aims to promote appreciation for arts and culture through the cinematic medium while boosting tourism in Nigeria.The 14th edition was organized on Sunda y Aporil 28, 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.Source: Cameroon News Agency
