Mandera: North Eastern Regional Commissioner John Otieno visited Mandera County to evaluate the region's security situation and address urgent concerns affecting local residents. Chiefs and security organs must work together to maintain peace and order."Otieno also issued a stern warning to chiefs found engaging in illegal activities, particularly those involved in registering foreigners and issuing documents that could compromise security. "Any chief found engaging in such practices will face immediate arrest and interdiction," he cautioned.In separate discussions with community leaders and elders, Otieno encouraged active participation in enhancing security and fostering cooperation with law enforcement agencies to safeguard Mandera County.
