Ouagadougou: An international conference dedicated to the former revolutionary president of Burkina Faso, Thomas Isidore Noël Sankara and to endogenous development, opened this Thursday in Ouagadougou within the university which bears his name.Placed under the theme 'Thomas Sankara and development', the conference was attended by eminent personalities from the political and academic world.The opening ceremony was chaired by the Prime Minister, Dr Appolinnaire Joachimson Kyélèm de Tambèla. The head of government developed the theme on 'Endogenous development policies: A response to crises in Africa'Thomas Sankara ruled Burkina Faso between 1983 and 1987. As soon as he came to power, he worked to transform the mentalities of his fellow citizens for self-care far from alienation.Source: Burkina Information Agency
