Our goal is to collect 24 points in the first leg: Coach Eichab

Khomas NamPol Football Club coach, Fortune Eichab, has set a goal for the team to collect 24 points in the first leg of their season.

The coach said this in an interview with Nampa on Sunday, after their third successive win of the season at the Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) sports grounds in Olympia.

The newly promoted club has collected nine points from their three matches so far and leads the Debmarine Namibia Premiership by three points. Eichab however says their lead is not enough as they have not won anything yet.

“Our goal is to avoid getting into the relegation battle this season. The road ahead is going to be tough, and we need to collect as many points as possible. But it’s important to remind the players to be level-headed and take it one game at a time,” he said.

The coach also said for their goal to be achieved they will have to address their shortcomings at training.

“Khomas NamPol has a blend of experience and youth in the team. Two 19-year-old players competed in our game against Civics and managed to compete well. One of them even gave an assist in the match,” said Eichab, who further stated that with confidence the future for Khomas NamPol looks bright.

In their upcoming matches, of the 2023/24 Debmarine Namibia Premiership, Khomas NamPol will take on UNAM FC on Friday at the SKW stadium, followed by a match against Life Fighters at the same venue on Sunday.
