Petro de Luanda seek win in South Africa

Luanda – Angola’s Petro deLuanda face away South Africa’s Memelodi Sundowns on Thursday for the second leg quarter finals of the first edition of the African Football League(AFL), following a 2-0 defeat at home.

The Angolan champions have a tough mission ahead of them after conceding a 2-0 defeat at home. The team will have to win by more than two goals, or at least draw the tie, in an attempt to overcome the 0-2 defeat.

Egypt’s Al Alhy face Tanzania’s Simba FC on Tuesday, for the second leg of the competition after a 2-2 draw on Friday in the opening game of the competition.

Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca face Nigeria’s Enymba, following a 1-0 win away on Sunday.

On Wednesday, at the Olympique de Radés stadium, Esperance de Tunis will be visited by TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo.

The first encounter took place Saturday in Tanzania (borrowed home of the Congolese team), where they won 1-0.

The competition, which involves eight teams, will have the semi-finals played on October 29, while the final will be played in two legs, on November 5 and 11.
