The situation is getting complicated but at least the family of Ewane Roland, the Divisional Officer of Idabato in the South West region, knows that he is still alive.Kidnapped on October 1, 2024, by suspected Nigerian pirates, the family has now been asked to pay a huge ransom.CNA gathered from an anonymous family source that the Pirates reached out less than a week ago and tabled their demands: FCFA 1.9 billion, 10 generators, 200 Yamaha horsepower flying boat and the release of their colleagues from the Buea central prison. They didn't specify the number of colleagues they wanted released. It is not clear whom they want to pay the ransom( family or the government) but the family is worried about their brother. The government has not commented on the demands. The D.O was kidnapped alongside the Accountant of the Idabato Council.Source: Cameroon News Agency
