Power Resumes In Masalani Town

Electricity power has been restored in Masalani Town after weeks of darkness in Ijara sub-county.

The Kenya Power Company Officer in charge of Masalani Sub County sub-station, Silas Limo, while briefing the media in Masalani Town, said the company had managed to restore lights in the Hola sub-station, which is the major conduit station supplying power to Masalani, with a power capacity of 220 volts.

This comes weeks after electrical wires supplying power were swept by flash floods in the Kakuyuni area of the neighbouring Malindi Sub County, thus hampering the supply of power to Masalani town and its environs.

‘We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the hard times you have endured,’ said Limo.

However, the power outage caused slow flow in businesses, an acute water shortage, and poor health service delivery in hospitals across the Ijara constituency.

Residents have since hailed the company for restoring power, but asked the concerned officials to be more proactive in the future when dealing w
ith electricity issues.
