According to a note from the Angolan diplomatic representation to which ANGOP had access, the message, the content of which was not revealed, was received by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oloushegun Bakary Adjadi, during an audience he granted to the Angolan diplomat.
During the meeting, Minister Oloushegun Bakary Adjadi congratulated the leadership of President João Lourenço in the dynamics he created for the pacification of the Great Lakes, in particular, with the ceasefire agreement between the DRC and Rwanda, which has been in force since mid- night of August 4th.
The frequent exchanges of correspondence between the two statesmen and the permanent consultations between the two foreign ministers indicate a satisfactory level of bilateral relations.
In July this year, Angola and Benin signed, in Luanda, a visa exemption agreement and agreed to intensify bilateral cooperation in the diplomatic, economic and commercial fields.
Later this year, the two countries will be able to sign another a
greement in the field of air transport with a focus on the pan-African cultural project of the Vodoun Festival, where TAAG will be able to operate Rio de Janeiro-Luanda-Cotonou flights to transport thousands of pilgrims and Latin American tourists who in January 2025 will participate in the event that will last five (5) days.
The festival of Vodoun, known as the Day of Traditional Religions in Benin, celebrates the nation’s history surrounding the religion of Vodoun in West Africa.
It records an unusual entry of tourists and pilgrims coming from various countries around the world to participate in the religious, artistic, cultural and historical values, lectures, shows and delicious Beninese cuisine.
