Ouagadougou: The counter for provisional registrations in the ‘W’ and ‘WW’ series in Dakola in the province of Nahouri was officially inaugurated, on Friday July 20, 2024, by the governor of the Center-South region, Yvette Nacoulma.

From now on, no motorized vehicle, new or used, can pass through the Dakola customs post, on the border of Burkina and Ghana without being registered. In fact, it was equipped with a provisional registration window in the ‘W’ and ‘WW’ series.

The official opening of this device located around twenty kilometers from Pô, province of Nahouri, took place on Friday July 20, 2024.

He indicated that provisional registrations are of two types. The provisional ‘W’ series concerns vehicles garaged or owned by dealers, vehicle manufacturing companies and vehicle sellers.

It allows, he noted, to have an approval valid for one year, at a cost of 50,000 CFA francs.

New or imported second-hand motor vehicles and motor cycles purchased to be driven within Burkina Faso are registered in the provisional ‘WW’ series.

The price for these 2 to 3 wheel vehicles is 9,500 FCFA and that of 4 wheels at 12,500 F CFA, mentioned the director of land and maritime tra
nsport.

He suggested that the technology put in place by the partner Supernet technology holding, concessionaire for the implementation of provisional registrations, allows you to have your provisional registration in less than 10 minutes to drive with complete peace of mind within a maximum period of 60 days. while waiting to have the definitive one.

Minimize bad practices

The Governor of the Center-South, Yvette Nacoulma, representing the Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety, indicated that the implementation of the registration system in the provisional series is a commitment of the government to continue the reforms to minimize bad practices in the transport sector.

‘This solution allows the administration and control forces to verify in real time the identity of a vehicle, even newly acquired, and its owner for better monitoring of the vehicles circulating on our roads,’ she said. underlines.

In his opinion, registering a vehicle, although often perceived as a simple office procedure, is of capital importance for safety.

She recalled that this provisional registration certificate is a mandatory document in the composition of the file with a view to obtaining the definitive crisis card.

Ms. Nacoulma invited all citizens to adhere to the registration system in the provisional series in order to make the roads safe spaces.

The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Pô, Illasa Dianda, expressed his joy at welcoming this system allowing the temporary registration of imported vehicles, while a definitive registration is available.

He expressed his thanks to the authorities for their commitment to the development of Nahouri.
