The ongoing road maintenance exercise in Trans Nzoia County which seeks to enhance accessibility has hit a notch higher.This was revealed during an inspection exercise conducted by the County Executive Committee Member in charge of Roads Mr. Jackson Amboka.As he urged the contractors to adhere to quality, Amboka stressed on the need to ensure the works are completed on time to allow the public get the value for their money.Present during the inspection exercise was Eng. Rachel Wangoi who echoed Amboka's words and advised the contractors to use specified standard materials for the construction, adding that this will ensure durability.'We want to ensure these roads serve our people longer than expected. This will only be achieved if the maintenance exercise is done to specifications. Use of quality materials is a key element to this,' she said.The County had set aside Sh90 million for the construction and maintenance works which kicked off a month ago.The works will see close to 800 kilometers of ro ad network across the 25 wards in the county being attended to.Source: Kenya News Agency
