Hulugho: An ICT resource centre has been set up in Hulugho Sub-County of Garissa County to enable youth from the area to access online services with ease.According to Kenya News Agency, the establishment of the resource centre will enable the youth from the border sub-county to utilize e-government services, such as KRA Pin registration, and apply for online jobs. Hulugho Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Mr. Adow Omar addressed local residents, stating that Sh1 million was spent to set up the resource.Mr. Adow, speaking to the KNA crew on the phone, mentioned that the hub is equipped with ample facilities, including 5G WiFi, and has an instructor deployed to manage the centre and train the youth in ICT. The centre can accommodate about 10 learners at a time. Mr. Adow has engaged a trainer using his funds and hired a watchman to guard the facility, which is located in Hulugho Sub-County, Ijara Constituency.He explained that he took this initiative to ensure the youth are engaged in constructive activ ities and to protect them from the risk of falling into drugs and illegal activities. This resource centre is the first public facility of its kind in the entire Garissa County.The hub was officially opened by MCA Mr. Adow Omar, accompanied by Hulugho OCPD Mr. Joseph Munene, chiefs and their assistants, departmental heads, and local elders.
