The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte, seized this Wednesday, 62 thousand and 770 liters of fuel in the municipality of Xá-muteba, for smuggling.The information was provided by the SIC spokesperson in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanhe, highlighting that the fuel was destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where it would be sold.He revealed that the product was stored in 257 tanks with a capacity of 250 liters each and 80 drums with a capacity of 25 liters each, hidden in a thicket.He reported that the alleged perpetrator of the crime fled as soon as he noticed the presence of SIC agents at the scene of the arrest.He highlighted that during the operation, it was possible to seize a truck used illegally to transport fuel to the DRC.He said that SIC agents are continuing to investigate the whereabouts of the alleged smuggler and the seized fuel will be included in the criminal proceedings to be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office.Source: Angola Press News Agency
