Kajiado: Three people were injured on Tuesday after strong winds disrupted a burial ceremony in Mile 46, Kajiado Central Constituency. The incident unfolded during the burial of Mzee Paul ole Kipapei when powerful winds swept through the area, causing tents to collapse and inciting panic among mourners.
According to Kenya News Agency, the three victims, two women and a man, were seated under one of the tents when it collapsed. One woman sustained serious injuries after being struck by a tent pole while attempting to escape. The injured individuals were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The burial ceremony experienced a temporary interruption but was anticipated to continue once safety measures were implemented to ensure the well-being of attendees.
