Turkana: Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has signed the Turkana County Finance Bill and the Turkana County Biashara Fund Bill into law. The Finance Act provides the County Government of Turkana with the authority to set or adjust fees, charges, licenses, permits, rents, and rates for services it offers.According to Kenya News Agency, the Biashara Fund Act establishes the Biashara Fund, which is designed to offer affordable and competitive credit to traders in Turkana. This fund is aimed at supporting business growth and promoting self-reliance among micro-entrepreneurs in the region.The signing of the bills was witnessed by several key figures, including the Leader of the Majority, Stephen Edukon of Turkwel; the Minority Whip, Vincent Ekipor of Lokichoggio; the Chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee, Patrick Napion of Kaeris; and the Chairman of the Finance, Planning, Trade, and ICT Committee, Michael Ewoi of Lapur.Governor Lomorukai expressed gratitude to the County Assembly for expediting the bills and for their support of the County Executive's development agenda aimed at benefiting the residents of Turkana.
