Uasin gishu: Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale has urged residents to uphold peace, unity, patriotism, and security to promote development within the county and across the nation. Speaking during Mashujaa Day 2025 celebrations held at Kipkenyo Primary School grounds in Kapseret Sub-County under the theme ‘Transforming Lives through Sustainable Energy Solutions’, Dr. Nyale commended residents for embracing peace and working collaboratively with both state and non-state actors to maintain stability.
According to Kenya News Agency, Dr. Nyale noted that because of sustained peacebuilding efforts, Uasin Gishu is no longer classified among Kenya’s conflict-prone regions. “All of you are my heroes. For the last three years, we have worked together to build peace and unity, and that is why Uasin Gishu continues to move forward as a peaceful county,” said Dr. Nyale.
The County Commissioner recalled a recent criminal incident in the Kipkenyo area where a road contractor was attacked while on duty. He warned that those involved in aiding or committing crimes will face the full force of the law. Dr. Nyale assured residents that the government has intensified security operations in collaboration with all security agencies to guarantee the safety of citizens engaging in daily economic activities such as farming and business.
“We heard reports of gangs stealing from members of the business community. We have moved in full force to dismantle them. The entire county security team, including the County Police Commander, County DCI boss, and County Prisons Commander, is on the ground to ensure residents live and work in peace,” he stated.
Uasin Gishu County Police Commander (CPC) Benjamin Mwanthi praised members of the public for their continued cooperation with law enforcement officers through timely sharing of information. He said such collaboration enables security agencies to respond swiftly to incidents such as robberies and to apprehend suspects before they escape.
“We have recorded a few petty crime cases in Kipkenyo, but we have acted promptly to address them. I urge residents to continue working closely with the police by reporting any suspicious activity within their neighborhoods so that offenders can be arrested and prosecuted,” said Mwanthi.
Both leaders emphasized that peace, unity, and vigilance among citizens are essential for achieving the government’s Bottom-Up Transformative Agenda (BETA), which seeks to uplift livelihoods and foster inclusive growth across the country.
