Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO (FBACU) announced Wednesday that it will commemorate 50 years of its existence from July 27 to August 5, 2024.

From July 27, 2024 to August 5, 2024, the UNESCO clubs of Burkina Faso will celebrate fifty years of existence on the theme: ‘The UNESCO clubs of Burkina Faso, 50 years of commitment to building peace and of sustainable development: assessment, challenges and perspectives’.

The information was given on Wednesday in Ouagadougou during a press conference by the president of the Burkinabè Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO, Ankirzomè Delphin Hien.

According to the president of the FBACU, this commemoration will be marked by a series of activities such as the reforestation camp, community actions, the collection of money for the patriotic support fund and the peace ambassadors’ night.

For Mr. Hien, this activity will be an opportunity for UNESCO clubs to instill the culture of peace and living together in their me

UNESCO clubs can take several forms (school clubs, university clubs, civil clubs). These are groups of people of all ages, from all backgrounds and from all conditions who firmly believe in the ideals of UNESCO.

UNESCO clubs aim to build peace in the minds of people through four levers: science, education, communication and culture.
