Nairobi: Vihiga Acting County Commissioner, Florence Sitawa, has opened a condolence book in honor of the late former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga.
According to Kenya News Agency, the condolence book will be available at the County Commissioner’s office building for residents to pay their respects.
Speaking before signing the condolence book, Sitawa described Raila as a leader dedicated to the service of the nation. She highlighted his commitment to peace and patriotism, stating, “We have really lost a great leader. Someone confident, purposeful and deeply patriotic. He loved his country and always championed peace. Raila stood firm to ensure that Kenya came first.”
The County Commissioner encouraged residents of Vihiga to mourn the late leader peacefully and use the condolence book as a means to express their sympathies. “We are calling upon all Kenyans to mourn him peacefully. By signing the condolence book, we can honor his memory and share our messages of comfort with the family,” she added.
Sitawa joined other National and County leaders across the country in expressing condolences to the Odinga family, celebrating Raila Odinga’s legacy as a leader who contributed significantly to the nation.
