Year 1 of the CNSP/Zinder: ‘Despite the unjust, illegal and inhumane sanctions… the CNSP and the Government were able to ensure the functioning of the Administration and make investments in the economic and socio-cultural fields


Ouagadougou: Niger opened a new page in its history with the advent of the CNSP to power under the leadership of His Excellency Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani. This event constitutes a decisive turning point in the political evolution of Niger. To assess the results of the actions of year 1 of the CNSP’s coming to power in the Zinder Region, the ANP met the Secretary General of the Governorate of the Region Mr. Maman Harou. Here he tells us about the great achievements patiently and efficiently accomplished by the CNSP after a year in power.

‘Today more than ever, Nigeriens are convinced of one thing: the determination and commitment of the new authorities to defend the sovereignty and interests of their country,’ declared once again the Secretary General of the Zinder Region, according to whom, “despite the unjust, illegal and inhumane sanctions taken by ECOWAS and UEMOA as well as certain strategic partners, notably the World Bank, the United States and the European Union against our country, the CN
SP and the Government were able to ensure the functioning of the Administration and make investments in the economic and socio-cultural fields.

According to him, in the Zinder Region, the achievements concern, without being exhaustive, the fields of Agriculture, Hydraulics, Rural Engineering, Health and Education.

During this first year (from July 26, 2023 to the present), the physical and financial achievements of the agricultural sector in the Zinder region are as follows:

Chemical fertilizers: the region received 833,889 tonnes for a total cost of 500,333,400 FCFA.

Phytosanitary products and treatment devices with a total value of 228,298,200 CFA francs;

Strengthening the capacities of 1767 agents for an amount of 86,300,000 CFA francs

Seeds 1680,327 tonnes estimated at an amount of 1,733,664,900 CFA francs

Economic infrastructure: Cereal bank and livestock feed bank 19,500,000 CFA francs

The agricultural sector in the Zinder region benefited from an investment of two billion five hundred and seven
ty-seven million five hundred and ninety-six thousand five hundred (2,577,596,500) CFA francs.
