Nahouri: The Zecco customs services in Nahouri province handed over 1,150 liters of seized alcohol to six health facilities in the municipalities of Zecco and Ziou this Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Guelwongo. The regional director of Nazinon customs, AndrEa Bertille Derra/Kalmogho, handed over the donation to the special delegations represented by the first vice-presidents of the said municipalities.According to Burkina Information Agency, the alcohol was seized during routine customs operations and has now been repurposed for use in health facilities for infection control and neonatal care. The regional director emphasized the importance of preventing public consumption of the seized alcohol for health reasons.Ms. Derra praised the customs staff for their dedication and collaboration with other security services. She urged the local population to support defense and security efforts, highlighting the mission to ensure their safety.Naaba Maaltenga, first vice-president of the special delegation of Z iou, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its significance for the local health facilities. He acknowledged the commitment of the customs staff and security forces in securing the border area.The alcohol will be used strictly for medical purposes, as assured by the beneficiaries. This follows a previous donation of 350 liters to the same facilities in December 2024.
